Virginia's Most Endangered Historic Sites

Edith Bolling Wilson
The 28th First Lady of the Untied States

She born in Wytheville, Va in December 18, 1915.  She was a direct descendant of Pocahontas, the daughter of the chief of the Powhatan tribe of Native Americans.

The Robert Bolling was a wealthy planter and merchant in Virginia and related to the Deaf children of Bolling Generations.

At the time in her parents before grandparents were quite wealthy prior to the American Civil War, but were forced to give up their plantation home after being unable to pay taxes on the land following the end of the war. Williams Bolling settled on his father's property in Wytheville, where most of his children were born.

The Bolling were staunch supporters of the Confederate States of America. (CSA) and Edith was very proud of Southern heritage.

The Edith Bolling Wilson Burthplace Foundation in Wythville was established in 2008. The Foundation has managed to stabilized the First Lady's birthplace, which was named by Preservation Virginia as an Endangered Historic Site in May 2013. the foundation's programs and exhibits work to educate the public about Mrs Wilson's life, and the importance of her legacy as a woman ahead of her time.

PENNHURST ASYLUM in 2015!

Pennhurst Asylum in 2015

In 2015 year for Pennhurst Asylum! Harris sent me the information today he would hope for this year.

Harris, my sweet leader of Winchester resident of Virginia, (Leader of MAPI) Mid-Atlantic Paranormal Investigators) He will keep this up for an April/May event for 2015. With 8 going a Monday event would cost about $106 per person. He is really hope we can generate about 20 people interested to go next spring as that will bring the cost down to around $60 for a weekend event or $50 for a Sunday thru Thurs event. $70 would be the amount we would have to charge for 16 people. If only 8 are interested it would be around $132.

This HAS TO BE PAID AT THE TIME IT IS BOOKED!! He will keep checking the site to see when they plan on posting 2015 dates. He will need input from the group on what month you would like to book it, and any special dates you are interested in. This really is a coordination nightmare as they require payment when booking, which means he have to have everyone who is interested prepay as much as 6 months in advance. So he does need the input from the group.

But I have another plan in this fall 2014 for the reunion classes and Deaf Pig Roast Williamsburg to save for October. It would be in Sept 14. I have to be in Staunton, Virginia the final meeting of 175th Celebration Gathering Alumni for VSDB all through in Oct 2nd to 4th. And Deaf Pig Roast Williamsburg would be in Oct 11. And October 18 we will be planning to go somewhere I can't remember...

Anyway, if you interested to go, let us me know we can list you in prepare to stay at Pennhurst all night until the sun come out.
It is for only Ghost Hunt, NOT the event of haunted time, like pleasure time like Haunted House event in Holloween way is NO.
